Humanity
Mei finds the Human being fascinating, with all its complicated simplicities and multiple social standings in its communities. The human psyche is a thing to be valued and the human anatomy is something to be studied with utmost precision.

Death
The inevitable ending of life. The mixture of goodwill and wickedness makes Mei stand between opinions on the subject: On one hand, death is a thing to be honored and revered. On the other hand, life is something to be preserved at all costs.

Romance
A subject quite unfamiliar, Mei only knows romantic love by definition but understands its significance. She repeatedly lies to herself about being immune to its grasp, knowing how such relationships can often stall progress.


Appearance:
Mei is a woman in her late twenties, based on both looks and experience. Her posture is that of a scholar, standing without either bulk or fat upon her small frame yet without looking sickly or malnourished.

Her eyes show an obvious mixed, Canthan heritage; thin but curious and always mindful of her surroundings, studying every aspect of them to the smallest detail. Above them sit her spectacles; the marvelous craft she uses to observe the ebb and flow of magical energies.
A sullen expression lingers upon her features at most times, save a few special occasions. She carries some melancholy within, caused by copious hours studying the nature of life, death and every state that possibly exists between the two.

Black hair throws contrast onto her pale complexion, rewarding her features with a certain sharpness. It is styled in a fashion which provides her adorable face with outlining, while not looking overly feminine or alluring. On the subject of effeminacy, genetics and a healthy diet has given her a nigh-flawless hourglass shape; a wholesome bosom to go with a slender waist - all of which she tries to hide behind her clothing.

The good doctor is never ill prepared. Mei wears the most contrasting colors upon her leather-lined clothes; the most easily washed materials sewn where the most bloodshot tends to hit.
Like many people of science, she wears a toolbelt of her own to hold a collection of vials and elixirs of all sizes and colors, a long but thin dagger for fine incisions, a scepter to direct her magic and a satchel which holds all the equipment traditional physicians would carry. To accompany her equipment is the most ominous of staffs; assembled from the various bones she has collected from both her victims and those she failed to save.

Background
Mei Linchen is somewhat of a mystery. It is known that she hails from Lion's Arch, that she is of Canthan heritage without ever having seen Cantha, that she studied alchemical science from her mother until said mother passed away, when she turned to hone the dark gift she inherited from the now missing father.
Apart from all this, she tries not to speak too much of herself and instead spends her social time studying those around her.
