Kaila Ravenwest
NAME: Kaila Ravenwest
ALIAS: Seris Kensington
RACE: Human
AGE: 24
GENDER: Female
PROFESSION: Ascalonian Separatist, Bounty Hunter, Sniper.
Description A tall human with long, pale blonde hair and a mocking
voice. She wears two different armour sets for different needs. While remaining undetected, such as within Divinity's Reach, she wears a full plate set in black, ruby and gold with a crimson train flowing behind. Under normal circumstances, she dons a less formal set coloured in gold and trimmed with red, tailored towards mobility. While her face is normally set in an insolent grin, her eyes remain cold and watchful, pale blue in colour. Kaila is normally the first to leap into action when she see's a target, recklessly diving in head-first to take the kill. She's more likely to threaten herself out of a situation than charm her way out, relying more on cold steel and bullets than words. She carries her greatsword and rifle with her at all times, feeling somewhat naked without. The rifle is well-kept, a golden roaring lion in place of a generic muzzle. Attached to it are several additions that are obviously modifications to the original, including a long scope on the top. The great-sword has a pale, silver blade, rippled with a darker metal as though reworked. The hilt seems old and out of place beside the decorative lion head where the blade meets the hilt.
BackgroundGrowing up in Ascalon with her brother Darius, the pair learned how to look after themselves and each other very quickly. With Kaila charging at the front of every push and Darius behind to support with spells, they soon earned themselves names in the battles against the Charr. Kaila excelled at leaping into the melee but was convinced by her brother to take up shooting as well after narrowly avoiding being torn apart by a Charr in a bloodrage. Although she quickly fell in love with her new 'toy', this didn't stop her recklessness in battle. It merely gave her a second option to kill with.
With the coming over the treaty between Charr and Humans, both siblings lost their places in war. Kaila however, quickly took up arms as she joined a separatist unit dedicated to fighting the Charr regardless of the treaty. Knowing how headstrong his sister was, Darius soon joined as well, though mostly to make sure the last of his family didn't get herself killed. Not long after joining herself, the black-armoured ex-soldier
Hans Veltheim appeared within their group. Much to Darius's disapproval, the pair soon became firm battle partners, teaming up to become the bane of every stray Charr to cross their path. With no allies to aid them, they quickly turned to bounty hunting and mercenary work. While pleased that she was no longer risking her life in Ascalon, Darius was still weary and to this day continues to watch his sister from afar, knowing exactly the situations she gets herself into.
While idling by the aquariums in Divinity's Reach, Ashrael Shadaar stumbled across the bounty hunter. Mentioning Hans's name was all it took for Kaila to lend him her gun, seemingly enjoying the chance to leap into battle once more. She currently uses the alias 'Seris Kensington' while inside the Reach, having had several run ins with the Seraph, usually involving them coming out the worst.
PersonalityKaila comes across as rude, offensive and volatile to most people. Quick to anger, unprovoked or otherwise, she's known to attack even members of the Brotherhood for the slightest thing. She refuses to even acknowledge any Charr recruit, but when she does interact with them, it's normally to threaten or attack. She'll often abandon the group rather than fight beside one, even taking moments to plan friendly fire in large fights.
The amount of people she's not incredibly rude to can be counted on one hand, and even then she's quite arrogant and reckless with them. Her ways of helping or just being nice are as simple as a slight smile or simply not offending them when addressed.
Recent EventsNoticing the increasing number of Charr within the ranks of the Brotherhood, Kaila has become even more volatile than usual, snapping at people for reasons as little as greeting her or looking her way. While the group remains in Orr, she rarely joins them at the camp, or even in battle. Instead, she prefers to spend her time alone in Orr while scouting places that were either overlooked or inaccessible to the rest. When she does venture back to report or just pass through, she's usually sporting fresh injuries while refusing to admit that the Risen are of any danger to her. She doesn't even bother to address the wounds to recover.
Character RelationshipsAshrael Shadaar: Simply put, she thinks of him as a piece of the scenery. She doesn't feel threatened by him at all, seeing him as someone who's conveniently placed around the countryside at all times.
Darius Ravenwest: She whines about him dogging her around and babysitting, but she's quite pleased that he joined the Brotherhood. Quite rude about him when questioned, she cares a lot for her brother and is secretly grateful for all the help he offers.
Hans Veltheim: While often insulting him, Kaila see's him as the one person she can completely rely on. Though she'd rarely admit it, she knows she'd never have gotten as far as she is now without him.
Eloise Decker: One of the few members who doesn't anger her on sight, Kaila doesn't quite understand why Eloise is so nice. Instead, she looks out for her as she reminds her of Darius in a way.
Glikkz: The teddybear. While she generally hates Asura, she's oddly fond of the tiny Glikkz, often carrying him around as a child would a bear, even recently throwing herself at the Risen to defend him while he was injured.
Dathryn Valentine: She's quite amused by Dathryn. After their initial battle, she thought he could be useful to the brotherhood. Recently losing her temper with him, she's satisfied that he'll no longer be someone that needs watched constantly and is quite happy listening to him insult everyone else.
Annalee Jenkins: While amused at her turning people into dolls, Kaila generally wants to punch Anna in the face. She thinks she should not be seen, nor heard, due to her colour-changing attire and tendency to start singing.
Frizleproket: The Asura who supplies her with various ammo types and gadgets, Kaila is quite impressed with his imagination. She overlooks him never remembering her name due to the fact that he's both comical and useful at the same time.
Kaimya: While he was alive, Kaila constantly bickered with him, though she accepted him into the group. Being shown his grave angered her without her really knowing why. When she discovered his spirit inhabiting the sword she claimed, she soon grew to enjoy his strange company on her travels. She's recently grown confused and angry with the sudden disappearance of his voice within her sword.
